Product Description
Pacifica Home Gems offers beautifully designed, versatile and durable home décor accessories. The Capiz line laminates shells from the abalone family to enhance and protect their natural beauty. Capiz shells are widely used by Filipino artisans who have a long tradition working with this material. The shells mollusk was a food source, but its outer shell baked and hardened on the hot sandy beaches, remaining translucent. Using the outer, translucent layers, skilled artisans first fabricated chimes and curtains, but gradually introduced candleholders, lighting fixtures and a variety of décor and tabletop accessories to their versatile repertoire. The US design team works with premier artisans in the Philippines to create décor items of distinction and quality.
